Friends of Highdown Gardens

A small group has been formed as the ‘Friends of Highdown’ but more ‘Friends’ are needed!

Volunteers can assist with a variety of light conservation work within the gardens, and any spare time that you may have, could well be rewarded by just being in such a beautiful garden environment.

The Friends Group now meet on the last Thursday of the month, from 9.00 am to 12 noon, beginning this year in February.

We have an earlier start at 8.30 to 12 noon May to September, finishing the year reverting back to a 9 am start for October and November.

We carry out a variety of general gardening maintenance, under the direction of the Highdown Manager and staff.

It is a friendly, informal group who all enjoy gardening, and being outdoors.

We cancel the meeting in adverse weather conditions, so you can rest assured we will not have you working in the rain or the snow!
